Lump Sum Awards
Spouses of deceased workers are entitled to a one-time lump sum payment. For 2009, this payment is
$71,697.51
plus or minus
$1,792.44
for each year the spouse is under/over age 40, respectively.
The amount would decrease by
$1,792.44
every year older than 40 that the spouse was at the time of the worker's death to a minimum of
$35,848.71
.
The amount would increase by
$1,792.44
every year younger than 40 the spouse was at the time of the worker's death to a maximum of
$107,546.31
